I'm about 100% sure that Bentley is cheating with usage logs, at least in Staad.Pro. According to Bentleys usage logs we would need to pay for an overage for Staad.Pro third quarter, as log files show that 2 licenses were used at the same time. As we have implemented a software to prohibit that, we did't believe it. Further investigations showed that licenses were denied, but still Bentley counted them as used. Not only that, there were also differences between recorded usage from K2 keyserver, and Bentleys logs. I did a testrun yesterday, where I started Staad, writing down the exact time of the start and end of the usage. I started the program at 09:32:51, and quit at 09:36:06. Both usages are correct in the K2 keyserver logfile, but wrong in the Bentley logs. Here start was recorded at 07:32, and stop at 07:42.(*) Now let's go after the money we paid already... (*) Bentley logs are UTC, that's another bug that was reported by us recently.
