From our POV, ours was: Old - If number of applications started exceed the available number of licenses in the pool, the additional applications could not be started. There was no billing for "overusage". We don't really know when it started that programs were allowed to be used above the number of licenses bought. It also doesn't really make much sense. If Bentley is generous, then well done. But if it is a trap to remove the cap off the servers and allow unlimited number of applications to be started, then shame on Bentley. I don't know how many other small companies are affected, but this certainly made us relook at our software deployment without the cap on the licenses. Given this cap off effect, now we will probably have to spend more manhours tracking the usage of licenses just because Bentley forced us with an open check. Not to mention that the tracking is not pre-emptive with the calendar-hour cycle calculation method. Suddenly, from being civil engineers we have to become the IT department.
