Error or Warning Message
When attempting to check out a license via the License Management Tool, the follow error occurs:
"License verification failed, unable to import license file."
Explanation
An outdated licensing component named Bentley IEGLicensing may be causing the problem. This component has been replaced by the Bentley IEG License Service.
How to Avoid
- Uninstall the Bentley IEGLicensing component from the Add or Remove Programs (Windows XP) or Programs and Features Windows Vista/7/8) control panel.
- Download and install the latest version of the Bentley IEG License Service from the Software Downloads page. As of September 2013, the latest version is 02.00.20.01. The Bentley IEG License Service is listed as a dependency on the Software Downloads page for products that require it. The following article provides a list of products that require it as well.
