A little explanation about Passports. Previously, when you purchased a MicroStation license, you received a ProjectWise Passport for free. However, earlier this year, Bentley made a change with the ProjectWise Passport. It was combined with the AssetWise Passport and renamed to Bentley Passport. This new Passport is no longer available to purchase and is no longer free with MicroStation.
However, after doing a little more research, it turns out that Clash Detection does not utilize a Bentley Passport license. (Sorry for the confusion!) It actually requires its own Clash Resolution Visa license. The Visa is also a named user license and functions similarly to a Passport license; However, the Visa is not being automatically billed for at contract renewal.
If the user uses the Clash Detection functionality within MicroStation, it will work for 30 days without a license. After the trial period, it will move into demo mode. Hope this helps!

Why don't Bentley tell us about these sort of things properly as this is the first I heard of this? As SELECT payers I would have thought that we should have been informed on this type of thing. What is the use of having an account manager who doesn't let us know what is changing. What else has changed I wonder and more to the point how do I find out?
